Weekend Edition 36

Woman Walking in an Exotic Forest, 1905
A woman! She is so desirable. She is in the center. But she is surrounded by so many rules, precepts (the short plants). The blue flowers are the romance and courtship. This leads us to the ripe and juicy exotic fruit : Desire! It is weakly disguised in the upper branches of the trees that are deeply rooted. When you got up there and tasted the fruit, you want more of the exotic, sweet and forbidden fruit!

Pablo Picasso

La pisseuse, 1965

Every woman is a carefully constructed outer image (white stains - the dress). The image is built in the way that you should not see that it was constructed (the pyramid wrapped in the white cloth). Her exposed breasts represent her sexuality. The legs show her groundedness, her pragmatism and common sense. Her vagina is her connection to the nature. The stream coming out of her is the time that is part of her relation with the nature.

Schwarze Kette Grün zu Rot 1966
You are jealous how others look at her(yellow oval). It dents your innocence ( the blue line between yellow oval and dark blue ribbon). But from another point it gives you a boost to your interest in her. So you start exploring her(black beads). You have found out that she is sharp as steel, passionate as fire and tender as a new leaf. This is the perfect woman. She always challenges you and keeps you on your toes.

Tilt, 2011
You wake up. It is summer. It is morning. You see your love. She is sitting outside in the sun.She is wearing a open summer white with flowers dress. She is tanned. She is looking at something far away. She is radiating warmth and love. She is waiting for you to get up. You tilt your head and then it strikes you this is the moment of happiness.

Untitled, 2010
Women need to create an aura of mystery around them. The woman is always conscientious about her look. She is always in control of her outer image. She takes the created mystery(black), wraps it tight with her mind and will (violet). Then she invents her style(yellow) to beautify the parcel. And on top of all that she puts a layer of naivety, carelessness and lightness(the blueish green).

Wassily Kandinsky

Black and Violet, 1923

He and She. She is on the left, all curvy and round. She is full of sun rays, sunsets and horizons. She is romantic, but she is very detail-oriented. He is solid, logical. He is more about strategy and general directions. He lets her to fill out the details, while she is following his directions. They are different, but are atreacted to each other like magnets.

Pablo Picasso

La femme-fleur (Françoise Gilot), 1946
This is a an attractive, beautiful and elegant woman. She is full aware of her beauty. And she uses her attractiveness to the full extent. You can think that this is her only weapon. But she has a "killing" combination of beauty and a sharp mind. But it's not a weapon, it's a tool. She uses her talents as a flower that attracts bees. It has nothing to do with bees, the flower has its own agenda. The woman uses them to attract others and to observe them. She is an artist, because the real artist is an observer. Her observations nurtures her attractiveness and  deepens her mind.

Arched Blue, 200

This is a woman. She is seducing you. Her flag is blue satin. Or is it eye blinder? You take the cover off your eyes, but it is too late. You are inside her energy field(the background lines). It works like a spell. You are on the slippery slope, because it looks like you are stepping on polished wood.

She seems to be trying to find the right words, 2011

Women are very detail-oriented. They notice things that men don't realize exist. Women are emotional. When you combine the huge number of details and feelings and moods that come with every detail, you can get distracted very easily. It is like you caught up in the bushes. Even they are not thick and each branch can't distract you from the path,  but the sheer number of them makes you wonder what you wanted to say. The the right words are starting to come up(the black branches).

LD15-10 Blue, 2010
It's a woman. She is frivolous, empty, naive(blue figures) and illogical. She constantly changes her mind. She thinks she is the center of the universe and everything revolves around her (the orbiting black circle in the lower right part of  the structure). Usually she doesn't know what she wants. Those things are true, but they are only a decoration. An adornment. Look deep inside, you will see her real character. It is a steel pole(the grey line in the middle) . It is so strong it holds the whole structure. It is straight as a ray of light. It is unbreakable. It is very hard to bend.

Edouard Manet

Le Dejeuner sur l'herbe
This is a feminist painting. Manet shows us the attitude to women in society at that time. First thing that you see on the painting is a basket. It was used, you see lunch leftovers scattered around. The second thing you see is the nude female body. It probably was also used, as you notice her clothes scattered around. Then you see two men talking. They are paying as much attention to the woman as to the basket. They are talking about something abstract, moral - some kind of mystical woman - a goddess? We can see her in the upper center. She is created by men's mind, and she is pretty modest, living in the forest alone (according to fairy tales) and nevertheless her body is covered unlike as her "real" representation. The last thing that you notice is the naked woman face. She is smart. She is fully engaged in the conversation. Manet puts her at the same level with men, as you can see her face is at the same height as theirs. Her posture tells us that she is thoughtful. She is detailed oriented, she notices things that men are not aware of - she is watching us, she knows that we are looking at her.

Untitled (#166)
This is a woman. She is very aware of her surroundings. She has an external image to maintain (light gray figure in the background around the main construction in the middle). At first glance beyond the visible representation, you can see a simple sphere and a cone. But if you dig deeper, you will see delicate mechanics with lots of gears, moving parts and springs. The springs (the two spirals in the center) sometimes are working in opposing directions. Thus they produce a line in the external image that changes directions rapidly, a conflicting and doubting behavior( middle right). Our woman has high standards that she use to measure herself(a yellow line in the top center). The line is near her lily head. The latter is heavily influenced by a yellowish spot that grows from the yellow sphere from down below.

Weekend Edition 6

Mark Rothko

Untitled (Blue Yellow Green Red)

This is a game of flirtation. There are two participants : Blue and Green. Blue is a woman - mysterious, a combination of   blue hope, blue night and brown pragmatism. The Green is a man. He is really into a game, full of yellow. But he has an edge, the white edge. He knows the underpinnings of the game and this inside knowledge helps him to keep balance against his formidable opponent.

The Blue made the first move. You can barely see it. Because it is so subtle. It is under the yellow game table. The orange red frame is the erotic pretext of the game. The yellow game field is like a sun. It could be warm and inviting, but it could burn you too.

Coming Into Orange
This is girl's love. There are lots of pink naive expectations and blue hopes. Then something not attractive(black, hairy) comes into her life. But under that facade there are layers of hope(blue), potential(green) and passion(yellow). When all those are uncovered, it is a start of a new world - orange glowing, feelings full love.

Gustav Klimt at ArtFinder

Danae

This is a beautiful woman in love. She gives everything: her feelings, her desires, her passion. She opens up to her lover in all her insecurity, vulnerability, imperfection. And yet she is perfect, gorgeous, tender and warm. She is Sun (orange details: hair, nipples and lips). Her love is the rain of gold to the person who can make her to fall in love with him. But all of this is covered to the outsiders by cool green fabric. The cloth hides the inner softness and lovable imperfections. The outer image is perfect, cool, inaccessible, mysterious.

This is not a landscape. This is a woman, laying with her back to us. She is trying to be cool(blue), but she is not. She is waiting for you to start the first move. Her anticipation and slight arousal are shown by the red line across the bottom. the bright lines and a circle at the top are what she is fantasizing and expecting.

Innuendo

You are getting a cannonball of insinuation. It's a planet, a world with different sides. It could be negative -  black. It could be innocent - white. But the innocence is a cover-up. It is mostly in the grey area between black and white. It has some flirting and playful motif - orange swirls. Sarcastic notes - black swirls. Orange-grey spots are the sexual ingredients.

Red Wave

I would call it the affair. A woman is drowning in the routine. It drives her crazy (yellow part). She is day-dreaming, building sand castles. Now comes the Red Wave. The feelings are over flooding her. Lust. Fear to be caught. Love. Immorality. The emotional   stream overruns her.

 Ever At Rest Series II
The vertical columns are days that are disappearing very fast into the past. Some went almost uneventful, some left a mark in memory and others influence the future. The only constant thing is frames you put yourself in. Even if you think you moved out, actually you are just in another cell of the same framework. And this framework is the only significant thing that connect the past with the future.

Ever At Rest Series III
And here is the same concept, but more personal. It's night. It's more intimate. You have something that bothers you at night. Something unknown. Something that always there. Something that even when it 's not there you are thinking about. I would say it's a disease. Or maybe it's not something, it is someone. Someone you love but can't read.
Woman Eyes VI
Woman sees every detail, every small item, especially we are talking about another woman. Even the hidden ones. And they bother her. Because of the details she can't see the whole figure. And it bothers her too(the passes at the bottom).
