Window Study #6, 1985
In the winter everything is gray. Those are the colors of winter : white, black and gray with bits of blue. Toward the end of winter, even the snow gets gray hues. The depression is piling up with layers of long cold nights.Everything looks smaller and packed. You start to think when you will get a break - a spring break!

Untitled, 1970
Winter. Naked black trees. Everything is gray. Even the snow is not white anymore. You have a cold, depressing feeling. Everything is smaller than it is used to be. The roads are narrower. You have a need to cuddle into small with your blanket. You are passive, trying to save the energy to heat yourself.

Autumn Trees
This is a island of color in the sea of grey. The tiny patch of bright is guarding you from waves after waves of depression. But it's very fragile and couldn't hold for long. Between the cracks of bleakness you can see the chilling white of winter. The angular form of the patch show duality in your feelings. From one side you admire the colors. From another side, you understand that they are caused by demise.
